Getting Things Done with Mary*

I was quite the busy little elf over the weekend. I churned out 3 dishcloths, which might just be my personal best, and made some soup ! (I didn’t take a picture of the soup-sorry! 🙂 )

Since I have been squandering away my days and nights I am going to have to resort to Christmas Plan B, which is going to consist of dishcloths and if the person doesn’t wash dishes, then voila! Washcloths! (I have actually had some dishcloth requests which makes me very happy, I cannot let my adoring public down!)

Woven Stitch Cloth

This is a very cute cloth and I am going to be making lots more of these in the future. I am going to make them a little bigger and let them be washcloths for some lucky individuals. They are so quick to make that I made all three of these over the weekend. I would estimate that they took about an hour a piece. (The green one is my favorite, which is only appropriate since it is the color Key Lime Pie, this also happens to be my favorite…)

I think that my aunt, Tracy, likes roosters, so I am going to include this in her holiday dishcloth package. It is a lot cuter than I expected and it shows up well, which is more than I can say for this guy…

Frosty the Snowman, from the Yahoo! Monthly Dishcloths Group

I can’t tell which side is the front or the back and I can actually see the pattern much better in this picture than when I am looking at it otherwise. Sigh. It is still a cute little cloth. I am going to make one more to be included in the holiday assortment that is going to my Meme and my other aunt, Amy, whose love for roosters is unknown.

I have revamped my dishcloth list so many times that I am a little bit unsure where this little guy is going to be living when Dec. 25 rolls around…

I was originally going to give this to Aunt #1, but I have found other patterns that I think she would like more, so as of right now I don’t know who is going to be the receiver of this lovely cloth. I have an idea, but I don’t want to give too much away… 🙂

This is only going to be the beginning! Since this is a short week, I am hoping to get a lot more accomplished since I won’t be having to go to work.

I hope that everybody has a great Thanksgiving!

*In Honor of Dead Like Me‘s Getting Thing Done with Delores.  I am not however, web-camming myself so that everybody online can see me clean, make dishcloths, etc.  🙂

Off the Wagon

I really do try very hard to expand my knitting horizons and find new and exciting things to knit, but for some reason I always come back to the dishcloth.  At least now I have a purpose for my cloths (since I hardly ever use them!) as I am going to be giving them to many of my relatives as Christmas gifts.  In fact much of my free time is spent scouring the internet looking for appropriate patterns.  (How is that different from any other time??)  Once Christmas is over and behind me I am really going to try and knit something else!  I promise!  Pictures to come…maybe on Monday.  I have to knit something first.

My Secret Pal is AWESOME!!!

I got my first package from my secret pal today and she sent me so many great things!  I am so spoiled! There were 2 skeins of Koigu, 8 notecards, SugarFree Wild Berry Taffy, two very cute and sassy bookmarks so now I can stop using my library receipts to mark my pages, a very neat stone magnet (maybe it is lava rock???), some chapstick which will be very handy this time of year and a cool Mount St. Helen’s postcard.  (My bf was very impressed with that and the magnet.)

I love the Koigu, which is my first!! I can’t wait to make something using it.  Socks maybe when I learn???  It is so soft and the colors are just beautiful!  (This picture sort of captures the colors.  The lighting in my apartment is not good for yarn photography. 😉 )

The  notecards are really great!  (I took some pictures of them but they didn’t turn out so well.)  I am thinking that I am going to frame them, there are 4 different designs, and hang them in my apartment.  They are so pretty.

Thank you Secret Pal!!!

Hello world!

This is exciting.  I am going to try out wordpress for a while and see how I like it.  The template is pretty cute I think and lately I have been having trouble with blogger uploading my pics and whatnot.  I guess we will see if this is any better!  🙂
